Administrator of Student Services-Franklin High School

Reports To:

School Principal(s) and the Assistant Director of Special Education Work Year: 10 Months - 193 Days Salary Range: $ - $ Annually The Student Services Administrator is responsible for overseeing and improving the delivery of special education services within general and special education settings. The administrator will collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and students to ensure a supportive and inclusive environment for all learners.

They will report directly to the School Principal and the Assistant Director of Special Education.

Key Responsibilities Student Support and Inclusion:

* Foster a sense of inclusion and community among neurodiverse and neurotypical students.

* Develop and implement school-wide programs that promote social-emotional learning and inclusion.

* Collaborate and support with school counselors and psychologists to support students' emotional and behavioral needs.

* Collaborate with the administrators to promote positive student behaviors and respond to unexpected behaviors.

* Collaborate with administrators on discipline procedures and safety/support plans for students with disabilities (or students in the evaluation process)

* Collaborate with administrators to implement the school's MTSS system

Administrative Duties:

* Assist in developing special education student schedules that meet student needs and service delivery requirements.

* Plan and facilitate special education department meetings to align instructional practices, review compliance data, and support staff needs.

* Participate in school and district wide meetings and committees for special education/student services programming.

* Oversee IEP implementation and compliance with special education regulations in the general education and special education settings.

Program Management

* Oversee Section 504 processes and procedures to align district-wide practices and ensure full regulatory compliance

* Support the Assistant Director of Spec Ed in implementing and evaluating special education programs.

* Assist Assistant Director of Spec Ed in monitoring and managing resources and materials for special education programs.

* Assists the administrators in hiring and assigning special education staff

* Supervises and evaluates special education faculty and staff

* Attends and facilitates all Manifestation Determination meetings

* Attends Team meetings as directed by the principal

Collaboration and Communication

* Serve as a liaison between special education and general education staff to ensure cohesive support for all students.

* Act as liaison between the school building and the Office of Student Services.

* Support the Home/Hospital Tutoring Procedures between providers and school staff for students with disabilities.

* Work with staff to organize assignments for home-hospital tutors.

Professional Development s

* Provide targeted professional development and instructional coaching to improve co-teaching models and optimize support for students with disabilities.

* Coordinate and facilitate workshops and training sessions for general educators and staff on effective strategies for teaching neurodiverse students.

* Provide monthly ESP training.

* Meet regularly with the Team Chairperson.

Referral and Intervention:

* Act as a resource for referrals and interventions for potential candidates for specialized programs

* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement intervention strategies.

* Complete the steps of the program consideration checklist when considering students for in-district programs.

Job Requirements

* DESE license as a Special Education Administrator or Principal/Assistant Principal

* Master's Degree

* Three years' experience in the area of special education services.

* Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI)
