The Franklin Public Schools, a PreK-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced special education teacher to serve as a special educator at Franklin Middle School. The teacher will work in a model of service delivery offering academic support in general education classrooms combined with specialized instruction for small groups and individuals on a pull‑out basis. Students requiring assistance and support have mild to moderate disabilities.

• Plan for effective instruction and intervention for students on IEPs
• Administer formal diagnostic assessments and tests for students initially referred and for three‑year reevaluations of caseload students
• Administer ongoing progress monitoring, strategic monitoring and benchmark systems
• Schedule, prepare for, and attend team meetings for caseload students
• Write comprehensive progress reports
• Collaborate with general education staff regarding appropriate accommodations and modifications
• Communicate regularly with families of students on caseload
• Collect and analyze student data against IEP goals
• Work collaboratively with special education team to improve supports, services and programming for students with disabilities

• Bachelor’s degree required;
  Master’s degree preferred
• Massachusetts licensure in Moderate Special Needs through the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education
• Wilson/OG training/certification preferred
• Demonstrated success with and knowledge of research‑based interventions for children with disabilities
• Demonstrated ability to develop positive behavior intervention plans
• Experience with administration and interpretation of a wide range of formal and informal diagnostic assessment and evaluation tools
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Experience in a public school setting
• Able to take initiative and work independently
• Successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprint screening (CHRI)
