Position: ABA Tutor
Position Type: Full Time
Hours: School year: 35 hours/week (183 days). Summer: 25 hours/week (Mon‑Thu 7:30‑2:15, 6 weeks).
Location: District Wide
Reports to: Building Principal
Salary: $27.05 per hour
Benefits: This position qualifies for town benefits, including Health Insurance.
Position SummaryThe Franklin Public Schools, a PreK‑12 district, seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to work as a 1:1 ABA tutor in the Partner Program. The program, supported by Franklin Public Schools and the New England Center for Children (NECC), uses Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to help children diagnosed with Autism reach their full potential. The ABA Tutor will provide highly specialized instruction and inclusion support, working under the direct supervision of a Master’s‑level Head Teacher and a BCBA supervisor.
Training is provided and ongoing.
- Ensure the safety of all students
- Assist in planning and implementing academic and behavioral programming for assigned students in collaboration with team members
- Record and summarize data
- Facilitate opportunities for generalization and maintenance of skills
- Collect data on targeted skills
- Assist with writing progress reports
- Relay parent concerns or information to the appropriate supervisor or teacher
- Carry over therapies across the student’s day (OT, PT, Speech and Language)
- Modify general education curriculum and expectations to meet student needs and skill level, ensuring successful inclusion experiences
- Actively participate in ongoing training
- Perform tasks assigned by the Partner Classroom Teacher, specialists, and supervisors as needed
- Work closely with other team members
- Provide parent training during school hours as needed
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
- Experience in education, special education, or psychology (preferred)
- Experience with children with Autism (preferred)
- Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis principles (preferred)
- Physical condition capable of managing behaviorally or physically challenging students
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
