Job Description

Position: Instructional Interventionist
Location: Lincoln St 3-5 School
Reports to: School Principal
Terms of employment: Part-time position 3 days a week, 5 hours a day
HJourly Rate:: $28.56/per hour

General Description:

The Elementary Instructional Interventionist provides targeted literacy and mathematics instruction to students under the direction of the Literacy and Math Specialists and the School Principal/Assistant Principal. The Interventionist supports the implementation of the district’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) by delivering evidence-based, differentiated instruction aligned to identified student needs.

  • Provide targeted, small-group literacy and/or mathematics instruction based on student data and identified areas of need.
  • Implement instructional plans and intervention strategies developed in collaboration with Literacy and Math Specialists and building administration.
  • Use district-approved curriculum, intervention resources, and evidence-based instructional practices to support student learning.
  • Collect and document student performance data and progress-monitoring information on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and school administrators to communicate student progress, instructional needs, and next steps.
  • Adjust instruction and intervention based on student performance data and progress toward identified goals.
  • Maintain consistent instructional expectations, routines, and structures across intervention settings.
  • Establish positive relationships with students and create a supportive, engaging learning environment.
  • Support the development of students' independence, confidence, and ownership of their learning.
  • Communicate regularly with classroom teachers regarding intervention goals, student progress, and strategies that may support students in the classroom.
  • Follow district and school procedures related to student confidentiality, safety, documentation, and instructional practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the School Principal/Assistant Principal, Literacy Specialist, or Math Specialist.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with children preferred
  • Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI).
