The Panther Group is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead procurement strategy and supply chain execution for complex technology programs supporting critical customer requirements. This role is responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with government contracting requirements, and driving operational excellence across a dynamic program environment. The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting complex technical programs within defense, aerospace, government contracting, or other highly regulated industries.
This individual will partner closely with program management, engineering, operations, finance, and business development teams to ensure materials, components, and services are delivered efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in alignment with program objectives.
- Supply Chain Leadership & Strategy:
Lead and manage supply chain and procurement activities supporting complex systems, products, and technical programs; develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives, cost goals, supplier performance expectations, and program requirements; drive procurement initiatives that support operational readiness, schedule performance, and customer commitments. - Procurement & Supplier Management:
Oversee sourcing, supplier selection, acquisition activities, and procurement execution; support proposal activities by analyzing requirements, identifying procurement risks and opportunities, and providing supply chain input for business strategies; develop sourcing strategies and supplier networks to support RFIs, RFQs, and proposals; build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support favorable pricing, quality, delivery, and contractual terms; monitor supplier performance and address issues impacting cost, schedule, quality, or delivery. - Compliance & Governance:
Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable government contracting regulations, contractual requirements, and internal policies; maintain accurate procurement documentation, records, and reporting throughout the supply chain lifecycle; support and maintain compliance with government purchasing system requirements, including Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) standards; prepare and maintain documentation required for audits and compliance reviews. - Risk Management & Performance Improvement:
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks affecting cost, schedule, and program execution; develop contingency strategies to support continuity of supply; establish key performance indicators (KPIs), reporting tools, and dashboards to measure supplier and supply chain effectiveness; lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, automation, and process optimization. - Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Partner with program management, engineering, operations, contracts, finance, and logistics teams to ensure integrated supply chain execution; provide leadership with actionable insights and recommendations related to supplier performance, procurement strategy, and operational risks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- 9+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, procurement, sourcing, or logistics.
- Experience supporting complex technical programs within defense, aerospace, government contracting, manufacturing, or other regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of U.S. government contracting requirements, including FAR/DFARS regulations.
- Experience supporting or participating in a Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR).
- Experience developing price analyses and supporting documentation for procurement decisions.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with ERP systems, procurement tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Experience supporting defense, aerospace, advanced technology, or government programs.
- Professional certifications such as CSCP, CPSM, or similar supply chain credentials.
- Experience with supply chain analytics, optimization tools, and process improvement initiatives.
- Advanced degree preferred.
