Position Summary
A growing manufacturer of custom automation and control systems is seeking Electronics Technicians to join its production team. This role is ideal for individuals with experience building and wiring electrical control panels who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and installing electrical control systems while working from schematics, blueprints, and engineering documentation.
This position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of electrical components and control technologies while contributing to the production of high-quality systems for industrial customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and wire electrical control panels, junction boxes, and subassemblies according to engineering specifications and customer requirements.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, bills of materials, and work instructions.
- Perform point-to-point wiring and install electrical components including PLCs, relays, switches, indicator lights, and terminal blocks.
- Drill, tap, and modify enclosures to accommodate electrical components and wiring layouts.
- Use hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, and other assembly tools.
- Install completed assemblies into cabinets, enclosures, and control desks.
- Document wiring or design changes and communicate updates to Engineering as needed.
- Perform basic fabrication tasks including deburring, grinding, cutting, and material preparation.
- Move materials and finished products throughout the facility using pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment.
- Maintain quality standards and ensure assemblies meet specifications.
- Support production schedules, including overtime when required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical Certificate in Electrical Controls or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience building and wiring electrical control panels.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Understanding of electrical principles, circuits, and current flow.
- Experience with mechanical assembly and electrical installation of control panels and operator stations.
- Proficiency with hand tools and panel fabrication processes, including drilling and tapping.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
