Overview

The Electronics Technician I is responsible for assembling, wiring, and building electrical control panels, junction boxes, and related subassemblies in accordance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, and production requirements. This role requires the ability to interpret technical documentation, use hand tools safely and effectively, and complete point-to-point wiring and component installation with accuracy and attention to quality. Openings are available on both 1st and 2nd shift;

employees assigned to 2nd shift are eligible for a 6% shift differential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wire and build electrical control panels, junction boxes, and subassemblies per customer requirements and engineering specifications.
  • Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and bills of material.
  • Drill and tap holes to mount control units and provide openings for components, wiring, and instruments.
  • Utilize a variety of small hand tools, including wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers.
  • Complete point-to-point wiring and install a wide variety of electronic components, including PLCs, relays, lights, switches, and other electrical devices.
  • Red-line documentation as necessary to initiate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) through Engineering.
  • Perform operations such as deburring, grinding, and sawing.
  • Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
  • Operate hand pallet jacks to move materials within the plant safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
  • Work overtime as needed to support production schedules and business demands.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and assembly documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use hand tools and basic shop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a production environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow written instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical Certificate in Electrical Controls preferred.
  • Prior experience in electrical panel wiring, assembly, or a manufacturing environment preferred.
