A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Manufacturing Technician at MKS Instruments, Newport Corp, you will work in our optics department, fabricating a wide variety of replicated optics involving use of polished master, precision alignment tooling and epoxy. In this role, you will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
- Replicate small/simple substrates through final product including the use of epoxy
- Separate, trim, and clean mirror products
- Prepare substrates, including vapor hone, mask, bake-out, tooling re-processing
- Prepare master optics, including non-destructive cleaning and handling
- Prepare submasters, chemical/mechanical processing, cleaning, fixturing
- Use mechanical measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gage blocks
- Evaluate cosmetic quality of polished and coated surfaces
- Ability to read/interpret blueprints, schematics, manufacturing processes, and test procedures preferred
- Optics experience preferred
- Able to perform repetitive tasks
- Familiarity with the use of Microsoft Excel
- Must be able to read and write English, good verbal communication skills, good visual acuity, and good manual dexterity. Work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to understand and follow required work instructions and procedures
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range:Pay Range: $18.89 - 31.49 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
