Fabrication Assistant

Position: Fabrication Assistant I
Part-time position supporting our senior fabricators with grinding, cutting, material handling, and shop organization. This is hands-on, physical work in an active manufacturing environment — we're looking for someone reliable who takes pride in keeping the shop running smoothly. There's room to grow: candidates willing to be trained on additional light fabrication duties (drilling, tapping, and more) are encouraged to apply.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Fabrication Support Grind and deburr parts

Operate band/cold saws for material cutting

Light drilling and tapping

Assist senior fabricators with setup, positioning, and general tasks

Willing to be trained on fabrication duties over time Materials & Shop Organization Organize and maintain stock racks, material storage, and shop floor space

Move and stage raw material and finished parts

Part labeling and picking

Shipping, Receiving & Logistics Load and unload trucks

Pack/palletize and box products for shipping as required

Assist with receiving and stocking raw materials

Ability to operate crane and forklift for material handling (with training)
Light delivery using company truck as required (not mandatory)
General Shop Maintenance Sweeping and general cleaning

General groundskeeping

Take the company truck for routine oil changes/services

Pick up shop supplies from local vendors and deliver orders to local customers as needed

This isn't a sit-at-a-desk job — you'll be on your feet, moving materials, and pitching in wherever the shop needs help that day.

The right person takes pride in a clean, organized shop and takes initiative without being asked twice.

Hands-On & Reliable Must have the ability to safely lift, carry, and position materials weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted on a regular basis

Comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment (noise, machinery, dust, etc.)Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic

Willing to wear required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves)
Team Player:
Good communicator, comfortable working alongside senior fabricators, and Willing to take on whatever task supports the team Required Skills Comfortable using hand grinders, saws, and basic hand/power tools

Ability to accurately read a tape measure (fractions of an inch)
Valid driver's license

Preferred But Not Required Willingness to be trained and certified on forklift and overhead crane operation

Prior experience in a shop or manufacturing environment (willing to teach the right candidate)
Welding experience

Education

High School Diploma (Required)
Experience Prior hands-on experience in a shop, trade, industrial, or manufacturing environment strongly preferred

No formal fabrication experience required — willingness to learn and work with tools is what matters most POSITION DETAILS Position Type Part-Time (16–20 hrs/week)
Schedule Monday–Thursday, within shop hours of 6:30am–5:00pm (specific days/hours set with Foreman)
Direct Supervisor Foreman Pay $18–20/hr Target Start Date October/November 2026
