General Description:
The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to work at Franklin High School. Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist with administering first aid to children
* Administer medication in accordance with school policy
* Perform specific medical procedures as prescribed and outlined in the student's health care plan
* Conduct growth and development screenings as mandated by 105 CMR 200.000
* Confer with supervisor, site administrator, and the school nurse regarding student needs, policies, and procedures
* Substitute for the Van LPN, to ride van to and from school to provide medical monitoring of students, as needed
* Maintain records
* Participate in educational programs designed to increase knowledge and enhance the quality of practical nursing care in the school setting
* Upholds professional standards, the Massachusetts Nursing Practice Act and other state and local statutes and regulations applicable to school nursing practice; and adheres to district policies
* Keeps current with any changes to applicable nursing practices and standards
* Perform other related duties as assigned by the School Principal or School Nurse
Qualifications:
* Hold a valid LPN License in the State of Massachusetts
* Experience working with children and youth is preferred
* Able to take initiative and work independently
* Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI).
