What you’ll do
As the District Sales Director, you will lead all sales activities within the New England District, coaching and training sales professionals to achieve performance goals in alignment with marketing and sales plans.
- Establish new and build on existing relationships with key customers and distributors to enhance sales volume and customer service
- Plan, direct, and drive sales resources to assure adequate coverage of accounts
- Understand competitors’ products, tactics, strategy, pricing, and their competitive position in the district
- Implement product line initiatives and product launches
- Create strategic plans and be responsible for implementing them
- Identify, analyze, select, and continuously improve the district’s various channels to market
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, and continuously improve the organizational capabilities of sales personnel
Location:
Within a 50‑mile radius of Franklin, Massachusetts. Relocation within the hiring country is offered.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in electrical sales
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in sales management positions
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Must be located within a 50‑mile radius of Franklin, Massachusetts
- Position is not sponsored for immigration
- MBA or master’s degree
- Sales experience in the North American Investor‑Owned Utilities Market
- Experience managing direct sales personnel
- Product line marketing and/or operational experience
- Market knowledge and understanding of electrical products and distribution channels
- Strategic planning and profit planning experience
- Knowledge of sales techniques, customer relations, and personnel development
- Strong professional presence and communication style
- Experience setting aggressive sales plans and achieving ambitious targets
- Ability to identify existing and future growth market opportunities and tailor sales plans
- Ability to establish rigor, consistency and a business cadence that drives the team forward
- Capability to synthesize information and leverage data‑driven arguments for decision making
- Strong customer orientation and focus; ability to work with all levels of customer organizations
- Negotiation skills and ability to resolve problems, manage conflict and develop buy‑in
- Technical aptitude to understand and position solutions within the Utility segment
- Ability to influence without authority in a matrix environment
- Experience assessing, selecting, developing, motivating, and energizing a diverse team
Expected annual salary: $192,000 – $282,000. The role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
