Customer Service Representative

Customer Service Representative King & Bishop is seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative for our client. This position is responsible for managing customer accounts, coordinating orders and deliveries, responding to customer needs, and supporting internal sales efforts.

The ideal candidate brings experience in an industrial environment, strong customer service skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer accounts by communicating expected delivery dates, coordinating expedite requests, providing tracking information, and following up on customer orders.
• Proactively identify and implement solutions to support on-time delivery and quality expectations.
• Meet established internal customer service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Use customer and sales data to support account management and business decisions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal departments to meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Provide direct support to outside sales representatives for an assigned customer base.
• Respond to internal and external requests in a timely manner, resolving issues and providing appropriate solutions.
• Proactively manage customer quotes, orders, and ongoing account needs.
• Prepare quotes for products and services, including product selection and recommendations for complementary solutions.
• Recognize competitive market pricing considerations and adjust accordingly within established pricing, inventory, and sales guidelines.
• Enter and maintain accurate order and customer data within the ERP system.
• Identify prospective customers within an assigned territory to support company sales initiatives.
• Conduct outbound follow-up on new leads.
• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
• Monitor industry trends that may affect customer needs and future sales opportunities.
• Generate, review, and analyze reports related to customer and sales activity.
• Develop and maintain a strong technical understanding of the products and solutions offered.
• Proactively communicate customer incentives that align with sales initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to recommend complementary products and solutions.
• Participate in ongoing training to maintain knowledge of products, technical competencies, and industry advancements.

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a sales-related or customer-facing environment, such as customer service, inside or outside sales, technical sales, or purchasing.
• Industrial industry experience required.
• Distribution experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced business environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer accounts, priorities, and deadlines.
• Technical aptitude and the ability to develop a strong understanding of industrial products and solutions.
• Experience working with ERP systems and performing accurate order and data entry.
