What's a typical day as Electronics Technician II? You'll be:
- Wiring and building electrical control panels, junction boxes, and subassemblies per customer requirements.
- Reading and interpreting schematics, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and bills of material.
- Completing point-to-point wiring and installing a wide variety of electronic components including PLCs, relays, lights, switches, and more.
- Drilling, tapping, deburring, grinding, and sawing to prepare panel enclosures and mounting surfaces.
- Installing finished assemblies or subassemblies into cases and cabinets.
- Using a variety of small hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers.
- Red-lining documentation to initiate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Operating hand pallet jacks to move material within the plant.
- Training and mentoring junior members of the team and taking the lead on customer projects.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment and following all safety procedures.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate in Electrical Controls is preferred.
- Bring at least 4 years of experience in control panel building, wiring, and reading schematics/electrical diagrams.
- Possess strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of electrical currents.
- Demonstrate proficiency with hand tools for drilling, tapping, and assembly.
- Are highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Are physically able to frequently lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Understand and follow safety requirements in a manufacturing environment, including wearing PPE such as safety shoes, glasses, hearing protectors, and hardhats.
- Have emerging computer literacy and basic mathematical skills relevant to production and engineering concepts.
