SummaryThis role is responsible for developing and sustaining the Quality Management System (QMS) for PCC Structurals – Tilton, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001/AS9100 and other industry standards. The position leads auditing efforts, manages nonconformities, implements corrective actions, and maintains certifications. The engineer partners with plant employees to uphold the highest product quality expected by customers.
PrimaryRoles and Responsibilities
- Perform all work safely, follow safety rules, and recommend improvements to maintain a safe work environment.
- Manage QMS and auditing functions, coordinating with all QMS process owners to guarantee active engagement and compliance.
- Prepare the QMS for AS 13100 compliance by January 2027.
- Host internal and external audits for customers and regulatory bodies, ensuring all post‑audit actions are completed promptly.
- Train staff on the QMS, ensuring adequate competence and understanding.
- Invite opportunities to visit other PCC plants for continuous improvement and quality events.
- Lead management reviews, risk assessments, 6S events, and continuous improvement activities, driving closure of associated actions.
- Investigate QMS compliance concerns and establish corrective actions with respective departments.
- BA/BS degree preferred (not required).
- Experience with a QMS in a regulated industry, ideally aerospace, commercial, or military, and regulatory surveillance experience preferred.
- Experience leading individuals or teams and completing deliverables on schedule.
- Experience with ISO 9001/AS 9100/NADCAP‑compliant quality systems.
- Internal and external auditing experience; lead auditor certification preferred (training can be provided).
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining procedures, controlled documents, and processes.
- Experience contributing to business application implementation projects.
- Knowledge of APQP/PPAP, FAIR, PFMEA, control plans, process flow diagrams, gauge R&R preferred.
- Understanding of investment casting processes is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to changing business and team needs.
- Excellent communication in English – writing, speaking, and comprehension across all levels.
- Self‑starting, proactive, continuous engagement.
- Flexibility to reprioritize tasks to meet business, regulatory, and customer demands.
- Knowledge of reading and understanding procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Hands‑on audit hosting experience; lead auditor certification not required at hiring.
- Willingness to receive additional training.
- Ability to work individually and with multidisciplinary teams on projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Flexible schedule with presence during primary operating hours.
