- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for population-specific inpatient patients, from simple to complex cases with multisystem issues
- Provide direct patient care in a safe and therapeutic environment
- Apply purposeful, organized thinking to make clinical judgments and decisions
- Gather patient histories and perform physical assessments; interpret data to plan and implement interventions
- Develop, evaluate, and revise patient care plans and nursing actions
- Document care and patient progress toward desired outcomes
- Direct and supervise delegated nursing activities
- Teach patients and significant others about the care plan and prepare them for discharge, transfer, or procedures/tests
- Manage time and resources to deliver patient care
- Administer medications
- Collaborate with patients, families, significant others, and healthcare workers
- Report to the Director and/or Nurse Manager
- May supervise Licensed Nursing Assistants and unlicensed personnel
- Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing
- Registered Nurse
- New Hampshire Board of Nursing - Basic Life Support
- American Heart Association - Refer to the department-specific mandatory certification, competency, education/training nursing policy
- One year prior clinical nursing experience
- Evidence of working effectively and positively with patients, care providers, and the multidisciplinary team
- Evidence of ability to perform as a member of a team
- Ability to meet the stated physical demands and work-environment requirements, including medium material handling and exposure to pathogens, bodily fluids, and hazardous substances
Demonstrates expertise in patient assessment, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions while ensuring a safe therapeutic environment. Proficient in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supervising nursing activities to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
