License/Certification:Teaching license
- Ohio teacher or non-tax licensure:
High School English Teacher (9-10). ACSI teaching certificate is required; however, it may be obtained after hire.

Background Check:Acceptable BCI and FBI report.

Middletown Christian Schools is looking for a professional teacher who embraces our vision, mission, and core values. A person who seeks this position should be one who is convinced that God has called him/her to the ministry of Christian school education.

Must have a personal relationship with God, including the maintaining of personal devotions and Bible study. He/she must follow the leadership standards of Grace Baptist Church.

Teacher Responsibilities
  • Deliver a Christ-centered, hands on, and experimental approach to education.
  • Engage with professional learning that promotes collaboration.
  • Develop lesson plans in accordance with the MCS curriculum.
  • Incorporate multidisciplinary lesson planning.
  • Understand that there is an ongoing process of development for innovative practices in education, and work to stay current with teaching methods.
  • Use and interpret student data, including formative and summative assessments to monitor learning as well as develop and implement differentiated lessons for students.
  • Incorporate current technology into instruction to enhance student learning when appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner: personable, well-organized, self-initiating, and attentive to details.
  • Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and Board Policy.
  • Utilize pedagogical approaches that include but are not limited to Socratic questioning, adult and peer coaching, peer presentations, problem-based learning, inquiry methods, and other forms of active learning.
  • Prepare substitute teacher’s folder to help ensure a smooth delivery of the daily lesson plan in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Attend IEP conferences when necessary. Work cooperatively with the Intervention team in assessing student needs and learning deficiencies, and develop alternative solutions to remediate student learning and behavior problems.
  • Attend staff meetings and district professional development programs. Participate in grade level/departmental and teacher/principal conferences as scheduled.
  • Enforce the Code of Conduct governing students in his/her direct charge and for assuming authority, as warranted, over other students in such areas as school hallways, cafeteria, chapel, assemblies or other activities during the school day.
