The Franklin Division of Police is a progressive law enforcement agency located in Warren County, Ohio. Situated on I-75 between Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio, the Police Division serves the citizens of Franklin, Ohio and surrounding communities. The current authorized staffing of the Division is 28 officers. The Franklin Police Division is one of three agencies in the county with their own communication center consisting of seven full-time dispatchers.

Qualifications

Must possess a valid Ohio Peace Officer Training Certificate, be currently employed as a full-time Police Officer with a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience, be at least 21 years of age, have a High School Diploma/GED, and hold a valid Ohio Driver's License.

Compensation and Benefits

$29.42- $39.85 per hour + 10% Pension Pick-Up and competitive benefits package.

Application Process

Completed applications, resumes and accompanying certifications will be accepted through Friday, August 14, 2026.

Selection Process

The selection process will include a qualification review, valued at 50% of selection score, and an oral interview, valued at 50% of selection score. Qualification review to include the following:

  • One year of full-time experience as a Police Officer = 70 points.
  • Additional years of service = 2 two points per year.
  • Veteran credit = 5 points.
  • Associate degree = 2 points.
  • Bachelor's degree = 4 points.
  • Master's degree = 6 points.

(Education points not to exceed a total of six points).

Minimum acceptable score = 70 points. Maximum score = 100 points. The cumulative score will be certified by the Civil Service Commission who will then provide the Police Division with the top ten applicants for selection.
