Centerpoint Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) seeking a Community Engagement Specialist for our community health center. We have locations in Franklin and Middletown, OH. We provide services in primary health care, ob-gyn, and behavioral health.
Description of Position/PurposeThe Community Engagement Specialist (CES) plays a key role in advancing the mission of a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) by building and maintaining strong relationships with community partners, increasing awareness of health center services, and supporting access to care for priority populations. This position plans, coordinates, and participates in community outreach and health awareness programs, including health fairs, clinical outreach events, and employee wellness activities.
The Specialist also supports promotional efforts, data tracking, and staff training related to outreach activities.
- Assists with organizing, planning, and implementing health awareness programs and community outreach activities, including employee health fairs and various clinical outreach events.
- Provides creative support for outreach initiatives and helps coordinate logistics as necessary (e.g., venues, materials, schedules, and partner coordination).
- Represents the health center at community functions, events, and meetings to promote services and programs.
- Speaks to selected community groups, including churches, schools, businesses, and civic organizations, to educate the public about available services.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and referral sources.
- Supports community health education initiatives aligned with FQHC priorities, including preventive care, chronic disease management, behavioral health, and social services.
- Utilizes social media, print materials, and other promotional methods to raise awareness of the organization’s programs and services.
- Assists with outreach related to special initiatives, any grant‑funded programs, and population health efforts.
- Researches and suggests other community outreach ideas on behalf of the Center.
- Assists with coordination and training for staff participating in outreach events to ensure consistent messaging and effective community engagement.
- Provides on‑site support during outreach events, including setup, coordination, and follow‑up activities.
- Supports fundraising activities, special events, and volunteer engagement efforts as assigned.
- Supports the CEO with community outreach and engagement as needed.
This position is contingent upon a successful credentialing, background check and drug screen.
