Summary Description
The Plant Quality Manager II reports to the Senior Quality Manager and provides support to the plant and leadership of a large, complex facility in maintaining and improving the quality systems as prescribed by corporate standards to ensure adherence to quality control and assurance. Duties involve management of food safety quality management systems, including change control, data collection and analysis, test methods & equipment, standard operating instructions, audits, manuals, and other routine quality systems areas.
The role also includes training plant personnel in quality processes, facilitating improvement teams, managing compliance to specifications, and serving as a member of the product safety team and QM pillar.
- Provide hands‑on management of the QMS elements in coordination with the Senior Quality Manager, including quality action plans, root cause analysis and corrective actions, supplier quality management, customer complaints, standard work, audit processes, standard procedures, test methods, change control and process controls.
- Generate data analysis and reports for all aspects of plant quality such as VOC, CARs, SCARs, COAs, on‑time and in‑full deliveries, SPC reporting, losses, product safety, internal, third‑party & customer audits, and change control processes.
- Assist in managing the food safety team and organizing its work, ensuring relevant training and education of food safety team members, and maintaining the food safety management system.
- Independently manage customer interactions related to product or service quality.
- Participate on teams and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including SPS QM pillar engagement and sub‑team activities.
- Identify, define, and promote awareness of customer requirements for the plant and participate in cross‑divisional teams or audits as needed.
- Serve as an active member of the plant leadership team to foster adherence to quality principles and goals.
- 4‑year degree in a related field.
- 3‑5 years of experience in a manufacturing related role.
- Strong analytical and statistical analysis skills.
- Proficiency in statistical software.
- Green belt certification.
- Leadership experience.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
