Job Description
The Senior Accountant owns the core of our accounting function — from entering and coding payables in to driving the monthly and quarterly close in Sage Intacct. Week to week, you'll maintain our 13-week cash forecast, manage AR billing and collections, and produce financial reporting for management and the Board. You'll work directly with the CFO, who relies on this role for accurate books, timely close, and analysis they can trust.

Job Duties General Ledger & Systems- Serve as the primary owner and administrator of Sage Intacct, including chart of accounts, dimensions, recurring entries, and system integrity.
- Maintain accurate, well-documented journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Identify and implement workflow and automation improvements to increase speed and reduce manual effort.
- Enter, code, and process accounts payable, including approval routing and payment runs ().
- Manage accounts receivable billing and collections, reconciling against project data.
- Maintain clean vendor and customer records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Own and drive the monthly and quarterly close on a reliable calendar.
- Prepare account reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, deferred revenue, and fixed‑asset entries.
- Ensure the books are accurate, complete, and closed on time.
- Own the weekly maintenance of the company's 13‑week cash flow forecast — updating payables, receivables, and financing activity from transactional source data.
- Reconcile each prior‑week forecast to actuals and flag material variances for review.
- Partner with the CFO, who owns the forecast assumptions and external commentary.
- Produce accurate and timely financial statements and management reporting.
- Build and maintain reporting packages for management, strategic projects, and the Board of Directors.
- Support budget‑to‑actual analysis, variance explanations, and KPI reporting.
- Deliver ad hoc analysis quickly and accurately to support decision‑making.
- Apply GAAP and sound accounting judgment to transactions and policies.
- Familiarity with project‑based revenue recognition, including cost‑to‑cost (percentage‑of‑completion) methodology.
- Support external accountants and auditors with work papers, schedules, and documentation.
- Help document and continuously improve accounting policies and internal controls.
- Support sales tax calculation and remittances made via Avalara.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (or 3+ years including public accounting), with demonstrated ownership of a close cycle.
- Fluency in financial accounting concepts and terminology — able to discuss the financials confidently with executives, auditors, and the Board.
- Proficiency with a mid‑market ERP/GL system;
Sage Intacct strongly preferred. - Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a track record of hitting deadlines.
- CPA (active or in progress).
- Public accounting experience.
- Experience in AVL, construction, or other project‑based / percentage‑of‑completion industries.
- Familiarity with , Monday, or comparable AP and project‑management platforms.
