Accounts Payable Specialist, Procurements Office

The ETSU Office of Procurement invites applications for a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist.

The Accounts Payable Specialist supports the University's procure-to-pay process through invoice processing, vendor management, account reconciliations, and month-end activities. Reporting to the Director of Accounts Payable, the position ensures accurate and timely transactions, resolves vendor and departmental inquiries, applies university policies and procedures, and maintains effective financial controls. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, independent judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Knowledge and understanding of the overall Procure to Pay process.
• Knowledge of, and ability to interpret and apply University policies/procedures.
• Ability to work as a liaison between the Accounts Payable department and vendors and/or university departments.
• Ability to use online ERP system, related to Accounts Payable processes.
• Ability to work with vendors on account profile and invoice status issues.
• Ability to handle questions received by department.
• Ability to analyze and correct Accounts Payable issues in the university ERP system.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Ability to establish, build and maintain relationships with vendors and departments across the university.
• Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret collected data.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee, department, and supplier information.
• Ability to manage tasks of highly detailed and technical nature.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.

• Associate's degree.
• Proven history of Payables, Procurement, and vendor interaction, and understanding of the Procure to Pay process.
  OR
• Two (2) or more years of related experience (analytics and vendor focus).
• Proven history of Payables, Procurement, and vendor interaction, and understanding of the Procure to Pay process.
  OR
• A combination of education and work experience.

• Experience working with payment and procurement groups.
• Experience working with vendors and on vendor payment issues.
• Experience working in multi-task, hi tempo environments on a regular basis.
