Williamson County Government is seeking a Deputy Clerk II to join the Register of Deeds team. This is very responsible administrative and technical work involving the receipting, recording, and filing of documents for the Register of Deeds office. It involves processing and maintaining official property records while serving as a key resource within the office.
An important role of this position is aiding individuals needing information regarding property parcels. This position is a strong fit for candidates with experience in title, real estate, lending, or other document-driven environments who are ready to bring their expertise into public service.
What You’ll Do- Record and process property-related legal documents
- Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Calculate fees and taxes associated with recording
- Assist customers, attorneys, title companies, and lenders
- Maintain accurate records, including scanning and verification
- Balance daily cash drawer and process payments
- Answer phones, greet customers and aid coworkers and the public
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document processing
- Experience working with legal, financial, or real estate documents preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures
- Organized and able to manage multiple priorities
High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in a government office, title company, real estate office, banking, or similar environment preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
