Overview

The Prospect Development Manager partners with Development Leaders and Donor Advisors to drive active portfolio management and meaningful donor engagement. Leading a data‑savvy team, this role turns insights into strategy—fueling stronger fundraiser performance and expanding the donor prospect pipeline. By delivering clear, actionable recommendations, the Prospect Development team equips leadership to grow K-LOVE' s principal, major, and planned giving programs and advance the ministry’s mission.

Here’s just some of what you will be doing daily…
  • Devise strategies for obtaining new prospects to ensure the ongoing development, expansion, and renewal of the prospect base, to which the ministry will turn for future engagement opportunities.
  • Qualify donor prospects across all programs. Utilizing tools and resources, provide recommendations to Development Leaders and Donor Advisors on prospect strategy and priorities.
  • icate and strategize with Development Leaders, Donor Advisors (Gift Officers) and program leads to help optimize portfolios.
  • Proactively anticipate and seek out information related to the immediate priorities of the development department.
  • Populate, organize, and maintain shared information systems and prospect information files.
  • Collaborate with the Prospect Researcher and Engagement Data Analyst on portfolio management processes and procedures.

  • Bachelor's Degree, or combination of education/training with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in portfolio management, or donor research.
  • Experience with conducting complex analytical research and data management.
  • Experience collecting, combining, and reporting on large data sets.
  • Experience in Project Management with the ability to organize and manage a diverse range of assignments and projects with high efficiency, yet thorough attention to detail and follow through.
  • Experience supporting a multi-million dollar annual and/or campaign goal.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce software, and Tableau/data visualization software.
  • Experience with online databases and services, information resources, and reference dictionaries. Demonstrated ability to manage database wealth screenings and/or custom predictive modeling.
  • Experience managing proposal/solicitation pipelines and prospect pools.
  • Experience collaborating with gift officers and leading prospects and pipeline reviews.
  • Experience with data analytics, supporting an information-driven decision culture by deriving conclusions and identifying trends through statistical analysis of internal and external data.
  • Experience making budget and revenue projections and recommendations based on data and trends.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Resourceful and independent, but comfortable working within the framework of an integrated development program and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize data from a wide variety of sources and present the resulting information in a clear summary.
  • A collaborative and flexible style, with strong service mentality. Need to be seen as a team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
