Position Summary
The Creative Director will report directly to the Sr. Vice President of Publishing, and will be involved in all the various creative aspects of Centricity’s publishing company. He or she will have proven experience building artist relationships and have a heart for songwriters and artists.
You will actively serve our artists through establishing and maintaining strong relationships within the entertainment industry, overseeing writer development and growth, and creating significant ministry and revenue generating opportunities for the roster.
Primary Responsibilities
- Use your demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with Centricity’s entire roster of staff writers and artist writers, establishing customized ongoing communication flow according to the specific needs of the songwriter.
- Consistently and successfully provide vision casting, strategy, encouragement, and support for Centricity songwriters.
- Deliver constructive song feedback and critique to our songwriters as appropriate.
- Work closely with internal and external A&R teams, Producers, and managers, throughout the Christian genre and beyond, to schedule strategic co‑writes for all Centricity songwriters.
- Connect our songwriters with key players within the industry, including A&R, producers, managers
- Attend events to support Centricity Music artists and Centricity Publishing songwriters (e.g., concerts, writer rounds, showcases, award shows, etc.)
- Foster strong relationships within the industry by proactively meeting and spending time with A&R, publishers, producers, managers, artists, songwriters, music supervisors, etc.
- Represent Centricity Publishing at various industry events (PRO Awards, Dove Awards, Panels, Mixers)
- Assist the Publishing Team plan and execute various writing camps, retreats, etc.
- Identify and deliver revenue and ministry opportunities for Centricity Publishing and its songwriters
- Manage songwriter calendars
- Identify and sign new talent
- Interpret basic terms of songwriter agreements
- Analyze songwriter royalty statements
- Perform additional publishing duties as they arise
Qualifications & Skills
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience in either Creative Publishing or label A&R
- Established industry relationships and demonstrated knowledge of the music business and creative process, specifically as it pertains to songwriting
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Professional and able to handle confidential information
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Resourceful, proactive, and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment
- Positive team player with a collaborative spirit
- Proficient with Mac OS, iOS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
