What'll You Do- Support the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing engaging, age‑appropriate curriculum.
- Nurture each child’s emotional, social, and cognitive development.
- Engage with children during learning, play, and transitions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Build positive relationships with families and communicate regularly.
- Collaborate with other teachers and school leaders to ensure excellence in every classroom.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- 1+ year of experience working with children ages 6 weeks–5 years (preferred).
- Passion for early childhood education and a joyful, caring attitude.
- Meets all Tennessee state licensing requirements for early childhood staff.
- Reliable and professional with consistent attendance.
- Builds positive relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Maintains composure and professionalism when addressing stressful situations or unexpected challenges.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. to ensure child safety, facilitate programs, and respond to emergencies.
- Infant and Young Toddler Teachers must be able to safely lift infants in and out of cribs and perform other caregiving duties.
- Remains alert and engaged while supervising children at all times.
- Meets all background check and fingerprinting requirements per Tennessee state licensing regulations.
- Completes required pre‑service, onboarding, and annual training hours.
- Adheres to all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Maintains a positive, team‑oriented attitude and commitment to The Gardner School’s mission and values.
