Overview
The Gardner School of Franklin is hiring an Assistant Teacher. Join a premier preschool with a dynamic curriculum and a team that is passionate and purpose-driven. This role supports the Lead Teacher to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment where every child develops into a confident, joyful learner.
What You’ll Do- Support the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing engaging, age-appropriate curriculum
- Nurture each child’s emotional, social, and cognitive development
- Engage with children during learning, play, and transitions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Build positive relationships with families and communicate regularly
- Collaborate with other teachers and school leaders to ensure excellence in every classroom
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 1+ year of experience working with children ages 6 weeks – 5 years (preferred)
- Passion for early childhood education and a joyful, caring attitude
- Meets all Tennessee state licensing requirements for early childhood staff
- Reliable and professional with consistent attendance
- Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members
- Maintains composure and professionalism when addressing stressful situations or unexpected challenges
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. to ensure child safety and support caregiving duties
- Remains alert and engaged while supervising children at all times
- Meets all background check and fingerprinting requirements per Tennessee state licensing regulations
- Completes required pre-service, onboarding, and annual training hours
- Adheres to all health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Maintains a positive, team-oriented attitude and commitment to The Gardner School’s mission and values
- Competitive pay: $15.25-$19.00 per hour (based on experience, education, and credentials)
