ASL Educational Interpreter - Licensed

CBS Therapy is currently seeking an ASL Educational Interpreter for a school-based placement for the upcoming 2026-27 school year!

Successful candidates will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
• Valid State of Tennessee School Educational Interpreter License
• Job-related experience within the specialized field
• Strong proficiency in manual communication skills (ASL and Signed English) and knowledge of Deaf Culture

Responsibilities of the Educational Interpreter

• Facilitate communication between deaf and/or hard-of-hearing individuals and others by using sign language to convey teacher instruction and intent.
• Assist deaf and hard-of-hearing students in both academic and nonacademic activities, including classroom instruction, tests, recess, and special events.
• Implement instructional and behavioral programs under the supervision of an assigned teacher to promote student success.
• Interpret at various meetings as requested, including IEPs and individual parent-teacher conferences.
• Prepare for daily classroom lectures and activities ahead of time to ensure a clear understanding and precise interpretation.
