Job Description & How to Apply Below

Guided Search Partners (GSP) Guided Search Partners is an Executive Search firm built on Trust, Transparency, Specialization, and Long-term Relationships. We connect high-performing professionals with organizations that value people, performance, and growth—helping leaders find roles where they can make an impact and build meaningful careers.

About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a newly established manufacturing operation in the automotive supply chain that supports high-volume production for major customers. The site is in an early ramp stage and includes multiple industrial processes, with a strong emphasis on environmental compliance due to the nature of the operation.

This EHS Manager opening is driven by an unexpected and immediate need for stable leadership on-site. The organization has been supported temporarily by regional resources, but now needs a dedicated leader who can take ownership, establish consistency, and guide the facility through its next phase of growth.

This is a great fit for someone who enjoys being close to the action—building structure where it’s needed, bringing calm and clarity during change, and setting a standard that others can follow.

What You’ll Do
  • Own environmental compliance for a manufacturing facility with regulated programs and evolving operational needs.
  • Lead key environmental areas including air, wastewater, stormwater, and hazardous waste—ensuring requirements are met while operations scale.
  • Partner closely with plant leadership to align expectations, priorities, and execution across shifts.
  • Influence cross-functional teams to strengthen systems, documentation, and day-to-day follow-through.
  • Guide and support an on-site EHS team member focused on safety, setting direction and maintaining accountability.
  • Improve consistency through clearer processes, better routines, and practical controls that work on the plant floor.
  • Help the facility move from “startup mode” into sustainable rhythm—without losing pace.
Who You Are

You’re an environmental-first EHS leader who understands that compliance isn’t theoretical—it’s operational. You’re comfortable being visible, direct, and practical. You build trust quickly because you show up, communicate clearly, and follow through.

You’re also the kind of leader who can hold the line when needed—firm, fair, steady—while still keeping people engaged and moving forward.

Preferred Experience & Attributes
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Environmental Science, Engineering, Safety, or a related field.
  • Manufacturing experience with strong environmental compliance ownership.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and collaborate across operations, maintenance, engineering, quality, and HR.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising EHS professionals.
  • Deep familiarity with environmental programs such as air permitting, stormwater, wastewater, and hazardous waste.
  • Highly preferred: experience with complex air permitting (Title V is a strong plus).
  • Strong plus: exposure to paint-related operations or similarly regulated manufacturing processes.
  • Certifications (CSP, CHMM, or similar) are valued but not required.
Why This Role Matters

This is a critical hire at a time when the foundation is being set. The person in this seat will directly impact how the facility builds its standards, maintains compliance as volume grows, and creates a culture where environmental responsibility is part of how the plant operates—not something bolted on later.

You’ll have high visibility, strong partnership from leadership, and the opportunity to shape how the site runs moving forward.

Reporting Structure
  • Reports to the Plant Manager.
  • Leads and supports on-site EHS capability (including a safety-focused team member).
  • Partners closely with regional EHS support and plant leadership across functions.

Compensation & Relocation

  • Competitive base salary (flexibility for the right fit).
  • Relocation support available.
  • Additional incentive opportunity may apply.
