As a Controls Applications Engineer, you will be the controls subject matter expert supporting the design and delivery of material handling systems for parcelanddistributionand fulfillment environments. You will work closely with both precontract and post contract teams to translate client needs and requirements into well-definedcontrolssolutions. In this role, you will collaborate with internal engineering teams, estimators, and external controls and electrical suppliers to develop designs, scopes of work, and estimates that support successful project execution.
You will move between multiple projects at different stages, helping shape solutions early in the sales cycle and ensuring controls requirements are clearly defined and executed as projects move forward.
- Develop field placement drawings based on system requirements and project specifications.
- Estimate field wiring and controls components.
- Review client RFPs to understand controls and electrical requirements.
- Develop RFPs for subcontractors and help define clear scopes of work.
- Partner with various internal teams to support solution development and pricing.
- Evaluate supplier bids and provide recommendations to estimating and leadership teams.
- Review supplier contract deliverables to confirm alignment with project scope and requirements.
- Maintain and enhance controls pricing tools.
- Stay current on new technologies and solutions that improve system design and performance.
- Conduct site visits and supplier visits as needed to support project development and execution.
- You bring 5+ years of experience working with controls systems in parcel and/or distribution and fulfillment material handling environments.
- You enjoy solving complex problems and translating technical requirements into practical solutions.
- You can balance multiple projects and priorities while staying organized and detail oriented.
- • You are comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with cross functional teams.
- You are curious, motivated to keep learning, and interested in expanding your technical expertise.
- You communicate clearly and can work effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- You take pride in contributing to successful projects and being part of a strong, collaborative team.
- You can travel up to 15% a year.
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
