As a Solid Waste Engineering Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Nashville, TN office, you will support the design, analysis, permitting, and preparation of drawings and technical specifications for solid waste disposal facilities, including coal combustion residual (CCR) and industrial facilities. Your engineering tasks will involve landfill system design, leachate and stormwater infrastructure, gas collection systems, site roadways, and support structures.

You will prepare technical reports, permit applications, construction documents, cost estimates, and solid waste management plans, and collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies from conceptual design through permitting, bidding, and construction. You will also mentor junior staff to ensure successful project delivery.

• Lead design, analysis, permitting, and construction-phase services for solid waste, coal combustion residual (CCR), and industrial waste management facilities
• Oversee landfill system design, including liners, leachate and stormwater infrastructure, gas collection systems, site roadways, and support structures
• Prepare technical reports, permit applications, construction documents, specifications, cost estimates, and solid waste management plans
• Conduct field and office coordination with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and project teams to ensure project success
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technical staff, supporting professional development and project delivery
• Ensure regulatory compliance and quality of project deliverables in accordance with client expectations and engineering standards

• 5+ years of experience in design, permitting, document preparation, and construction quality assurance of waste disposal facilities
• Coordinate regulatory agency review and permitting processes for complex projects
• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering;
  Master of Science preferred
• Professional Engineering Licensure or ability to obtain Tennessee licensure
• Apply consulting project business practices and project delivery methods
• Manage projects and lead teams to deliver on scope, schedule, and budget
• Write technical reports, proposals, and other project documentation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Autodesk Civil 3D

• Lead multidisciplinary teams on complex waste disposal or environmental projects
• Develop and implement strategies for regulatory compliance and permitting efficiency
• Mentor junior engineers and staff
