Garver is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer to join our growing Team in the Franklin, TN area. - Assisting with engineering design tasks for state DOT’s and local agencies’ roadway projects. This includes development of horizontal and vertical geometry, corridor modeling including roadside design, development of open and closed drainage systems, utility coordination, signing and marking, and erosion and sediment control.
- Preparing plans, cost estimates, reports, and calculations required for client deliverable packages.
- Interacting with design teams, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Representing Garver at industry events and in professional organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI)
- 1-3 years of transportation design experience
- Familiarity with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Green Book, the Roadside Design Guide, and the Manual Uniform Traffic Control Device (MUTCD)
- Good interpersonal skills and a team-first mentality
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Proficiency with Bentley products, particularly Open Roads Designer
- Previous experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on transportation projects in Tennessee
