Job SummaryWe are seeking a Manager of Tax Accounting to lead tax provision and reporting processes, drive process improvements through technology, and support broader business objectives in our Franklin, TN office.
Responsibilities- Tax Provision & Reporting
- Lead preparation and review of the income tax provision, including effective tax rate, current and deferred taxes, valuation allowances, and return‑to‑provision adjustments.
- Ensure accurate and timely close processes, including tax journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Oversee proper presentation of tax‑related balances and disclosures in financial statements.
- Process Improvement & Technology
- Drive automation and optimization of tax accounting processes using tools such as One Source, Power
BI, and Excel. - Identify opportunities to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of tax reporting processes.

- Team Leadership
- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of tax professionals.
- Foster a high‑performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Technical Tax & Risk Management
- Identify and document uncertain tax positions (UTPs) in accordance with ASC
740. - Monitor and evaluate tax controversies and audit matters, coordinating with internal teams and Global Tax.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls (JSOX) and maintain strong documentation standards.

- Audit & Stakeholder Coordination
- Partner with external auditors and internal reporting teams to support financial statement audits and reporting requirements.
- Prepare documentation, respond to audit inquiries, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Regulatory Monitoring & Planning
- Monitor changes in tax law and accounting standards (federal, state, and local) and assess impacts on tax provision and forecasts.
- Identify risks and opportunities to support tax planning and optimization strategies.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and other business units to understand transactions impacting the tax provision.
- Facilitate clear communication of tax impacts and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
- Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. - 7+ years of relevant tax accounting experience and 2+ years of leadership experience.
- CPA required.
- Strong knowledge of ASC
740 and U.S. GAAP tax accounting. - Experience in a Big4/public accounting firm or large corporate tax department.
- Experience with One Source Tax Provision and data/automation tools.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work on‑site in Franklin, TN.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to influence and drive change in a complex organization.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proactive, self‑starter with strong collaboration skills.
