The Residential Direct Support staff are responsible for nurturing and developing a healthy, happy, and safe environment for up to 4 semi-independent residents living in Bright Stone’s Men’s Home. This new spacious home is located on Bright Stone’s beautiful 140 acre campus in Franklin off Columbia Pike.
We are hiring for 3 shifts:
First shift:
Mon – Fri 6:00 am – 2:30 pm (partial teaching assistant role in Bright Stone’s Day Program 8:30 – 2:30) Full-time with benefits
Second shift:
Sun 4:00 pm – 10:30 pm, Mon – Thur 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm, Full-time with benefits OR 2 part-time sharing schedule
Third shift:
Sun – Thurs 10:30 – 6:00 am, Full-time with benefits OR 2 part-time sharing schedule
With exception of third shift, these positions require driving a Bright Stone vehicle to transport residents when needed, typically only within a small radius of campus. Criminal background check with fingerprinting, abuse registry check, sex offender check and drug test all required for employment.
Hourly rate of $18 – $20 depending on experience
Job DutiesThe following duties are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive, and may not apply to all shifts. Other duties may be required and assigned as needed for the success of the home.
- Arrive on time to support a smooth and effective transition of care between shifts
- Supervise residents in independent self-care habits
- Follow individual support plans and behavioral protocols
- Foster a positive environment by engaging residents in activities
- Supervise daily hygiene routines for residents
- Prepare the morning or evening meals for residents
- Manage all medication plans in the home, based on the appropriate level of support and as directed by the resident’s ISP, with direction and oversight from the Bright Stone nurse
- Maintain cleanliness of the property and notify Home Manager and Program Director of necessary repairs and maintenance
- Provide transportation using a Bright Stone vehicle to community outings and/or places of employment
- Pick up residents from the Bright Stone Day Program (next door to home) and/or place of employment
- Confidentially maintain resident files, documenting all required information as per licensure
- Monitor residents’ safety and well-being throughout the night including regularly safety checks
- Respond promptly to residents’ needs, including overnight support or emergencies
- Report all instances of suspected and/or witnessed acts of abuse or neglect toward a resident to the Residential Coordinator and Program Director
- Other duties set forth by the Residential Coordinator or Director of Programs
- High School Diploma
- Energetic and creative attitude with strong client-relation skills
- Enthusiasm for the mission of Bright Stone and willingness
- Strong time management skills; must be self-motivated
- Ability to drive an 8-passenger van
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to perform and/or be trained in CPR and other First-Aid procedures
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must complete background screening including criminal background check and drug test
