Position: VP of Human Resources (HR)
Description

Our growing client is seeking an experienced Senior HR Consultant to help build and formalize the human resources infrastructure for a growing organization in Franklin, TN. This is a highly visible consulting engagement where you will partner directly with leadership to establish scalable HR processes, policies, controls, and organizational structures that support continued growth. The length of the assignment is undetermined at this point.

This role is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who has successfully built HR frameworks from the ground up in fast-paced, evolving organizations. The consultant will create sustainable, documented processes that can ultimately transition to an internal HR function.

Key Responsibilities

+ Develop, document, and implement HR policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

+ Evaluate and establish HR controls, approval workflows, and separation of duties to support compliance and operational effectiveness.

+ Review HR practices and processes with consideration for broader organizational compliance requirements, including quality, security, and customer-driven standards.

+ Design and formalize the end-to-end talent acquisition process, including:

+ Hiring manager roles and responsibilities

+ Interview processes and best practices

+ Job descriptions and role definitions

+ Offer letter and employment documentation standards

+ New hire onboarding procedures

+ Review employment agreements and related employee documentation for consistency, compliance, and best practices.

+ Establish foundational workplace policies, including attendance expectations, work schedules, employee conduct, dress code, and other employee guidelines.

+ Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and future staffing strategies.

+ Provide recommendations regarding succession planning and long-term talent needs.

+ Help define the structure, responsibilities, and governance of a future HR and Talent Acquisition function.

+ Assist leadership in identifying and defining the requirements for a future Hiring Manager or Talent Acquisition leader.

+ Create scalable documentation, tools, and processes that can be transitioned to internal ownership following the engagement.

Requirements

Required

+ 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience as an HR Consultant, HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or similar leadership role.

+ Demonstrated success building or formalizing HR infrastructure within a growing organization.

+ Strong knowledge of HR compliance, employment practices, employee relations, policies, and procedures.

+ Proven experience developing SOPs, employee handbooks, policies, hiring workflows, and HR controls.

+ Ability to assess existing processes, identify gaps, and implement practical, scalable solutions.

+ Strong project management, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

+ Experience supporting organizations undergoing rapid growth, transformation, or operational change.

Preferred

+ Experience working within ISO, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials, or similar compliance-driven environments.

+ Background supporting technology, professional services, manufacturing, engineering, or other growth-oriented organizations.

+ Experience establishing HR functions where limited formal processes previously existed.
