At Blue Oval SK, we will lead the transformation of the electric vehicle (EV) battery business through partnership (Joint Venture formed by Ford and SK On) to provide products and processes to increase our customers' experience. As the future of Blue Oval SK, you will help lead the battery revolution by working alongside our teams as we build the batteries required for electric vehicle business excellence.

Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at Blue Oval City in Tennessee and Blue Oval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford's 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On's 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world's best battery manufacturer.

About the Opportunity

Blue Oval SK is seeking procurement talent capable to sourcing required components or service for business and partner with our parent organizations and suppliers. An individual willing to take on the challenge of building something new and to proactively develop, communicate, and implement the best solutions will find an enjoyable and rewarding experience in this role.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Purchase MRO/equipment/spare parts items/service and expedited material as needed at the best price from reliable sources, consistent with established standards for items, quality, quantities
  • Manage outsourcing supplier
  • Support global-based efforts to drive effective procurement of MRO categories.
  • Update and maintain information to include material description, HTSUS code, duty ratio, origins, manufacturer, agent, and supplier- company/certification/ factory address, material picture, unit price, PO quantity/ amount, packing method, basic quantity per packing unit (pallet, bag, etc.) and basic quantity per delivery method (truck, 20ft container, etc.)
  • Resolve potential discrepancies with invoicing or materials to ensure requests and bills are processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Communicate with customs, freight brokers and vendors to ensure shipment of purchased material
  • Maintain material master and purchasing data (i.e. part#, part SPEC, mode of transport, Incoterms 2010, lead times, payment terms, and pricing) and recommended supplier on each item.
  • Work closely with internal customers to avoid any adverse impact such as supplier delivery delays or receiving errors.
  • Maintain processes, manuals, and work sheets; prepare and participate in audits/certifications
  • Fluent in SAP MM Module
  • Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned or expected
  • Demonstrated ability to report to work on a regular and consistent basis; work safely; and follow company policies and procedures
  • Understand business requirements to support organizational goals
  • Prepare reports on key procurement/deliveries/results on a weekly basis
  • Assign and direct work according to procurement/logistics plan
  • Responsible for achieving, monitoring, and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
  • Confer with other managers or global staff to coordinate activities in related departments
  • Collect and voice opinions when the revision and/or establishment of new work procedures are needed
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned and report to team manager or purchasing manager
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and supply base

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Purchasing experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in Purchasing in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communications, interpersonal, leadership and computer skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organization skills
  • Effective self-starter with multi-tasking experience
  • Ability to guide and influence at all levels
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive/chemical manufacturing industry
  • Experience in developing and purchasing automotive parts and managing procurement as a buyer or SQE (Supplier Quality Engineer)
