How you make a differenceThe Ambassador and Travel Teams Manager leads the deployment and oversight of travel and ambassador nursing teams, acting as a liaison between operations and nursing departments. This role involves coordinating site support requests, supervising team members, and developing individualized performance and development plans. The manager facilitates onboarding, monitors assignment effectiveness, and conducts weekly check-ins with staff to address challenges and celebrate successes.
They ensure operational alignment through communication, data tracking, and by implementing best practices in workforce management. This position also supports new business transitions, compliance efforts, and performance measurement initiatives while traveling as needed.
- Serve as the primary liaison and point of contact for site support and staff deployment, including Travel and Ambassador teams.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate team members, including performance check-ins, development planning, and addressing performance issues.
- Collaborate with facility leadership and operations teams to ensure team effectiveness and goal alignment.
- Track data and operational effectiveness, manage projects, and report on key metrics and risks.
- Support new business transitions, compliance initiatives, and uphold accreditation standards (e.g., ACA, NCCHC).
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
Experience
- NCCHC and/or ACA knowledge and experience.
- At least three years’ experience in corrections.
- 5+ years project management experience managing multiple projects to completion, preferably in healthcare operations or systems-oriented environments.
- Previous employment as an HSA/DON preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
- RN Licensure
- CPR certification
