Position: VIDEO DEPARTMENT MANAGER

Job Description: The Video Department Manager provides both strategic and operational leadership for the Video Rental Department  this role, you are responsible for directing all warehouse‑based Video operations, ensuring precise execution of departmental workflows and validating order accuracy as determined by rental software, the Account Manager, and the Video Systems Engineer. You will lead and develop warehouse technicians who prepare and pull Video orders, upholding established quality benchmarks and meeting all timeline requirements.

In addition, this role carries a critical responsibility for collaborating closely with the Video Systems Engineer throughout the system design, deployment, and build process. You will review engineering documentation, confirm equipment requirements, and support the translation of system designs into accurate, tour‑ready physical builds. This includes reporting progress, communicating constraints or discrepancies, ensuring design specifications are met during prep, and supporting the Systems Engineer in implementing technical standards that enhance consistency across all Video deployments.

The position also oversees training, performance development, and the cultivation of a high‑performing team environment—establishing clear expectations, promoting professional growth, and strengthening the long‑term capabilities of the Video Department as it continues to expand.

JOB DUTIES:

Provide strategic leadership and full operational oversight of all warehouse-based Video prep operations, ensuring the Video Department consistently delivers accurate, reliable, and tour-ready Video systems for client events.

Lead, manage, and develop the Video Department Lead and all Video prep staff, setting clear performance expectations, overseeing task delegation, and ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality technical output across the department.

Oversee the order accuracy verification process by reviewing requirements generated through rental software and collaborating with Account Managers, the Video Department Lead, and the Video System Engineer to ensure all Video deployments meet exact project specifications.

Ensure the department achieves 100% order accuracy by implementing and enforcing rigorous quality control standards, guaranteeing that all required equipment, accessories, and configurations are properly included, tested, and documented.

Maintain and continually improve quality standards for all outbound and inbound Video orders and shipments, ensuring the department consistently meets IPS expectations for precision, safety, and professionalism.

Provide high-level oversight of prep, deprep, QC, and asset verification procedures, guiding the Video Department Lead in process optimization and minimizing operational errors.

Ensure timely reporting of losses and damages by establishing clear processes and working closely with the Technical Services department to support rapid repairs and maintain overall equipment health and reliability.

Participate in weekly production meetings to forecast departmental workload, anticipate resource demands, and align department capacity with upcoming project requirements.

Identify operational challenges proactively, develop scalable solutions, and communicate key needs, recommendations, and departmental insights to senior leadership.

Oversee and support warehouse operations related to Video inventory, including cycle counts, organization, reconciliation, and long-term asset planning to maintain accurate and dependable stock levels.

Establish, refine, and enforce departmental workflows, documentation standards, and best practices to ensure consistent operational excellence and long term scalability.

Maintain and model high levels of technical and professional knowledge, staying current with industry standards, safety practices, and new Video technologies to guide the department’s growth.
