Loudon, TN-based Fort Defiance Industries (FDI) is a growing engineering and manufacturing company. FDI is seeking a Procurement and Inventory Specialist to support ongoing production.

Procurement Responsibilities- Place purchase orders and manage order confirmations, tracking, and expediting as needed.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers and support routine negotiations for pricing, quality, and lead time improvements.
- Use supplier lead time data to recommend safety stock levels and optimize reorder points.
- Identify and support process improvements, particularly related to material flow and stockout prevention.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Receiving, Manufacturing, and Accounting to maintain accurate and timely material flow.
- Monitor and evaluate vendor/supplier performance, and work to improve quality, pricing, and lead times.
- Resolve order discrepancies, including delivery dates and quantity mismatches.
- Set up, maintain, and improve the inventory management system for parts and supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory master data in ERP System (Acumatica) and coordinate material availability with production schedules.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with year-end physical inventory.
- Support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and ensure timely updates to BOMs and purchasing records.
- Ensure effective Management of Change (MOC) by incorporating design changes into assembly Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Coordinate Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and Return Goods Authorizations (RGAs) with vendors.
- Assists with shipping responsibilities.

- Proficiency with statistical analysis software is a plus
- Understands Engineering design/drawings
This work is performed in both office environment and in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise levels up to 110 decibels. The job requires the ability sit and occasionally stand for long periods of time. The employee will occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.
