The Corrections Licensed Practical Nurse works under the direction of the Health Administrator. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for sick call triage
• Responsible for medical care in accordance with institutional procedure
• Account for all controlled drugs and other medication, according to policy
• Conduct medication rounds
• Assist dentist when necessary
• Fill out laboratory request forms and collect specimens accordingly
• Complete other such duties as the Health Administrator or Supervising RN assigns, as needed
• Has completed an approved practical nursing program in Tennessee or comparable out-of-state program
• Have and maintain good moral character as determined by an investigation conducted by the agency along with passing all mental and health evaluations and background screenings
• Not have been convicted, pled guilty, or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge
