Registered Nurse; RN - Director Hospice

Overview

Gentiva is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Director Hospice for a nursing job in Franklin, Tennessee.

The Executive Director RN I provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for an assigned hospice location, managing day‑to‑day operations, interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring high‑quality, patient‑centered care while meeting regulatory standards and business goals.

• Provide hands‑on leadership for a growing hospice program, overseeing clinical quality, operational performance, and sustainable census expansion.
• Incorporate continuous quality improvement principles, using statistical and qualitative data to manage quality and ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies.
• Lead human resources functions: recruit, train, evaluate, and supervise interdisciplinary team members; conduct performance evaluations; manage disciplinary actions; promote positive communication and employee engagement.
• Manage office operations: plan and organize tasks, prioritize initiatives, monitor progress, manage contracts with outside vendors, maintain accurate documentation, and supervise quality of patient care.
• Oversee financial resources: prepare and review budgets, monitor expenditures, control overtime, and seek cost‑saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
• Serve as a liaison with governing bodies, referral partners, and the community; conduct outreach and coordinate with external agencies as needed.
• Ensure a safe environment, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions; incorporate safety topics into staff meetings and review safety policies regularly.

• Registered Nurse with a minimum associate’s degree in nursing (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

• Minimum one year of management/supervisory experience.
• Two or more years in hospice or home care (required).
• Three years in direct patient care in a clinical setting preferred.
• Three to five years of healthcare sales/management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, compliance, and Medicare conditions of participation.
• Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and interdisciplinary operations.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Commitment to high‑quality, compassionate care for patients and families.

• Current license to practice nursing in the state of employment.
• CPR Certification.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
