HCA Healthcare is seeking a part-time Radiation Oncology Nurse to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to patients undergoing radiation therapy. In this role, you will assess patients, monitor treatment responses, manage symptoms and side effects, and administer medications under oncology protocols. You will educate patients and families on care plans, collaborate with radiation oncologists and therapists, and maintain accurate EMR documentation. Responsibilities- Provide compassionate nursing care to radiation oncology patients before, during, and after treatments
- Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and manage side effects of radiation therapy
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and oncology protocols
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, symptom management, and follow-up care
- Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Follow safety and infection control standards specific to oncology and radiation environments
- Support quality improvement and patient-centered care initiatives within the department
