Principal Scientist – Inflammation
Our client is building a multidisciplinary science team focused on advancing solutions for complex immune-mediated and inflammatory diseases. They operate at the intersection of biology, engineering, and translational science, with a strong emphasis on human disease biology to drive meaningful therapeutic progress.
Our client is seeking a Principal Scientist – Inflammation to lead disease-focused research efforts. This role centers on integrating human disease insights with preclinical and translational data to shape therapeutic strategies and advance scientific understanding.
You are a scientifically rigorous leader with deep expertise in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. You think translationally, communicate clearly across disciplines, and bring a collaborative mindset. You are motivated to build, guide, and elevate research programs grounded in human biology.
- Design, execute, and interpret complex studies on inflammatory and autoimmune disease mechanisms
- Integrate human disease biology with preclinical and translational models to inform strategy
- Drive mechanism-of-action and biomarker initiatives linked to therapeutic hypotheses
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate biological insights into practical applications
- Mentor and develop scientists while promoting scientific rigor and strong translational thinking
- Ensure high-quality data generation, proper documentation, and a compliant lab environment
- Serve as a subject matter expert in inflammation and immune dysregulation
This role includes leadership responsibilities, including mentoring scientists and contributing to research direction. No specific travel requirements are defined.
- PhD in Immunology, Inflammation Biology, or a related field
- Extensive postdoctoral and/or industry experience in inflammatory disease or autoimmunity
- Proven ability to lead complex, disease-focused research programs
- Strong communication skills and experience working across disciplines
- Ability to work full-time onsite
- Experience integrating human disease or translational data into research strategy (preferred)
- Background in translational studies for autoimmune or inflammatory conditions (preferred)
- Prior leadership experience in technical, project, or matrix environments (preferred)
- Interest in building and shaping new research capabilities (preferred)
