Job Overview

A principal clinical specialist in the Pelvic Health Operating Unit supports surgical coverage, follow‑up, customer service and education within a designated territory. The role is field‑based, requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive approximately 50% of the time within the territory.

Responsibilities
  • Represent Medtronic Pelvic Health during surgeries and implants by providing the necessary equipment and products, and demonstrating expertise in implant, follow‑up support and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Maintain current knowledge of assigned products and services, including competitive products.
  • Proactively identify needs for new and existing accounts and educate and train physicians, hospital personnel and office staff on technical matters related to Medtronic products and therapies through one‑on‑one sessions, in‑service education programs, seminars, and symposiums.
  • Assist district manager and in‑house training department in training new employees in the district such as therapy consultants, clinical specialists and field clinical engineers.
  • Provide sales support during or after cases, completing documentation (implant registration, temporary , packing lists) and executing invoices as required.
  • Place orders with customer service for pending purchase orders and product replacement.
  • Maintain effective communication with all district personnel, customers and Medtronic employees.
  • Contribute to the completion of milestones on regional and/or national level projects.
  • Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high‑quality work.
  • Perform other related activities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Requirements
    • High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 11 years of patient care/clinical experience;
    • Associate’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of patient care/clinical experience;
    • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 7 years of patient care/clinical experience.
  • Nice to Have
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree;
    • Clinical skill and knowledge (e.g., ability to conduct a simple trial, implant and/or refill a pump);
    • Experience with implantable neuromodulation products and stimulation therapy;
    • Experience servicing medical personnel on product use;
    • Experience with a medical device or pharmaceutical company in specialties such as urology, surgery, RN, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, operating room, or home health care;
    • Excellent communication, coaching, organizational and prioritization skills;
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
    • Valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance; willingness to drive 50% of the time and possible overnight travel.
