QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience
Experience equivalent to four years of increasingly responsible and skilled full-time heating and refrigeration mechanical work.
Substitution of Education for Experience110 clock hours of coursework at trade, technical, or vocational school in heating and/or air conditioning/refrigeration mechanics may be substituted for one month of the required experience, with a maximum substitution of 18 months.
Applicants for this class must:
- A valid vehicle operator's license may be required for employment in some positions.
- Some positions require applicants to be certified with an EPA Universal Certification under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act.
Education and Experience, 100%, for Preferred Service positions.
OVERVIEWThis position will be responsible for performing routine HVAC maintenance and emergency repairs.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Routine filter changes on air handlers, package units, and furnaces.
- Seasonal cleaning of condenser coils, evaporator coils, and drain lines.
- Perform system analysis to ensure operational parameters are within manufacturers' specifications.
- Perform various other duties as assigned.
