Location & Travel

YOU CAN BE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE, ARKANSAS, FLORIDA, OR NORTH CAROLINA, ETC. (ESSENTIALLY ANYWHERE IN THE SOUTHERN STATES)

Travel

Note:

This position requires extensive travel (up to 8 weeks at a time, followed by scheduled rest periods) and so a valid driver’s license and passport are required.

Position Description

The ideal candidate thrives on variety, enjoys travel, and takes pride in seeing complex systems come to life under their direction. You’ll lead on-site crews, manage logistics, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and to specification.

It’s an opportunity for a skilled Field Installation Technician to oversee field installations, maintenance, and servicing of their innovative product lines across North America with a respected manufacturer of advanced industrial equipment. This role blends hands‑on technical expertise with project leadership, ensuring every installation meets the highest standards of performance, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Project Execution & Planning
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to interpret project requirements and develop installation plans.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations, anticipate potential challenges, and implement proactive solutions.
  • Manage scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking to keep installations on time and on budget.
  • Work alongside installation crews and subcontractors in a hands‑on capacity.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and on‑the‑job guidance to ensure safe, efficient, and quality work.
  • Foster strong communication and teamwork on site.
Quality Assurance
  • Enforce quality and safety standards across all installations.
  • Perform regular inspections, identify improvements, and collaborate with internal teams to refine installation practices.
Service & Technical Support
  • Diagnose, repair, and calibrate mechanical and electrical systems in the field.
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify root causes of issues and execute timely repairs.
  • Support client maintenance teams with best‑practice guidance and training.
Customer Relations
  • Serve as the on‑site point of contact for clients, providing updates, addressing questions, and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Deliver clear communication and maintain professionalism in every client interaction.
Resource & Administration
  • Coordinate tools, materials, and equipment needed for each job.
  • Track progress, submit accurate reports, and manage expenses according to company policy.
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience installing, maintaining, or servicing industrial or mechanical equipment.
  • Technical diploma, trade certification, or relevant on-the-job training preferred.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Skilled in electrical or low-voltage systems troubleshooting (an asset).
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Competent with common tools, diagnostic devices, and basic computer applications.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport, with the ability to travel extensively (up to 8 weeks at a time, followed by scheduled rest periods).
Education

Technical diploma, trade certification, or relevant on-the-job training preferred.
