OverviewJoin our dynamic Solid Waste Department as a Truck Driver and play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible community. This energetic position offers the opportunity to operate a variety of specialized waste collection vehicles, including rear loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and dump trucks,. As a key team member, you will be responsible for safely transporting waste materials, ensuring timely pickups, and supporting our commitment to sustainability.

- Safely operate various types of waste collection trucks such as rear loader, roll-off, and dump truck vehicles.
- Load and unload waste materials efficiently using manual lifting techniques and mechanical knowledge of truck equipment.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). through designated routes to collect waste from residential, and commercial, while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to waste collection and ensure proper load securement for transport.
- Support the disposal process by properly dumping or transferring waste at designated facilities or transfer stations.
- Maintain accurate records of pickups, routes completed, and vehicle maintenance logs to ensure operational efficiency.
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a focus on waste collection or delivery driving preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty trucks including rear loaders, and roll-offs, and dump trucks.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for heavy equipment operation and manual transmission vehicles.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday.
- Familiarity with load & unload procedures using mechanical lifts or manual techniques.
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to heavy vehicle operation and waste handling procedures.
- Prior experience operating specialized trucks such as rear loaders or roll-off trucks is highly desirable.
