TVI - Franklin, VA

Make a positive difference by supporting students with visual impairments across multiple grade levels. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work closely with a diverse caseload of approximately 20 students in grades K-12, delivering tailored instruction and services. You will collaborate with an established virtual Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and play a vital role in the educational journey of each child.

Key

Qualifications:

• Active Virginia Department of Education License with an endorsement for Visually Impaired Students
• At least 2 years of recent teaching experience, specifically working with individuals who have visual impairments
• Strong proficiency in developing, writing, and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Ability to work collaboratively with related service providers and contribute to comprehensive educational planning
• Willingness to travel between school sites to provide itinerant services

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and consultative support to K-12 students with visual impairments across a range of schools
• Partner with the district's virtual TVI to coordinate services and meet the needs of all students on the caseload
• Monitor, evaluate, and document student progress, ensuring compliance with all legal and educational standards
• Work closely with classroom teachers, related service staff, and families to foster an inclusive learning environment
• Follow up as needed with designated district contacts for additional program or resource needs
