D. Camp Community College is a small 2‑year college in Southeast Virginia. Campuses are located in Franklin and Suffolk. There also is a center in Smithfield. The college offers associate degrees, certificates, and career studies certificates in transfer and career/technical programs; credit and non‑credit workforce services and training for businesses and industries; special interest classes for the community; and summer classes for youth through the Regional Workforce Development Center.
A dual enrollment program for high school students, online courses, and developmental studies classes are available at the college as well.
The Assistant Baseball Coach is responsible for assisting with recruitment, fund‑raising, program development, practice preparation, and game day coaching. Recruiting duties include: scouting, identifying and recommending student athletes in such a manner that encourages diversity, while maintaining a competitive team. Rules compliance duties include: managing the baseball program in full compliance with National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), Paul
D. Camp Community College, and the Athletics Department policies and procedures.
- Previous experience in playing or coaching organized baseball.
- Knowledge in fund‑raising and recruiting.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured to drive college vehicles.
- Available for frequent evening and weekend games and practices.
- Ability to use sound judgment and critical thinking skills when determining students’ needs.
- Ability to apply knowledge of college and NJCAA policies and procedures.
- Ability to relate to potential students with diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to interact with faculty and staff as it relates to student academic needs.
- Baseball coaching experience on the college level.
- Experience in fund‑raising and recruiting student‑athletes.
