Applied Technical Services, LLC ("ATS") is seeking a Resident Inspector with API 653 certification (additional API certificates preferred) to support our Richmond, VA office through permanent employment in Franklin, VA. Local candidates or those able to relocate are preferred; relocation assistance is available. No per diem.
Duties/Responsibilities- Performs field inspections of tanks, pressure vessels, and piping for compliance with standards and regulations, ensuring quality control.
- Provides recommendations for repairs and alterations to tanks, pressure vessels, piping, and other components.
- Has industrial inspection, operations, and maintenance experience.
- Has process improvement experience.
- Exhibits strong leadership skills and ability to work unsupervised.
- Displays strong organizational skills.
- Writes reports detailing assessments and results.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.
- Can multi-tasks and work in a growing environment.
- Has plant engineering or steel fabrication experience.
- Current API Certification in API 653; additional API certificates preferred.
- Additional NDT certifications are desirable but not required.
- Ability to relocate to Franklin, VA for this Resident Inspector position.
- Learn and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Pass a drug screen and possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- 'U.S. Persons' only: this position requires access to information subject to ITAR; therefore, only U.S. Persons (citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees) will be considered.
- Must wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
- Work from heights on scaffolding, ladders, elevated platforms, man-baskets, etc.
- Work in confined spaces requiring crawling, stooping, climbing, etc.
- Work around operating equipment and industrial environments.
- Work with radiation and hazardous materials such as cleaners, penetrants, film-developing chemicals, etc.
- Work shifts up to 12 hours/day, 7 days/week, including extended travel.
- Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds.
