Come Drive Innovation with Us. We are currently looking for a Senior Facilities Engineer to join our team in Franklin, TN. The Role provides engineering support to non-manufacturing facilities, including office spaces, distribution warehouses, training centers, and technical/design facilities. Work with a diverse team of engineers and contractors responsible for: facilities design, construction, and management; engineering standards, cost estimation, talent management/employee engagement.

Supports NNA's objectives in facility maintenance, construction/management, and non-manufacturing operations. Frequently interfaces with executive management and works cross-functionally to improve engineering performance indicators. Contributes to building the Nissan brand and achieving enduring, profitable growth. The job assignment will be based at Franklin HQ.

A Day in the Life:

The responsibilities listed are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties for this role. Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed, to support business objectives.

  • Lead engineering reviews, problem-solving activities, Kaizen events, and technical improvement initiatives. Establish and maintain engineering standards, best practices, and technical consistency across North American facilities. Provide technical leadership for utility infrastructure, facility systems, and building performance optimization.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for facility engineering, construction standards, and asset lifecycle planning
  • Lead capital projects from concept development through design, construction, commissioning, and project closeout. Develop project scopes, business cases, technical specifications, schedules, budgets, and funding strategies. Communicates with all stakeholders throughout project execution.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with corporate engineering requirements. Supports development of annual operating and capital budgets. Forecast facility investment needs and recommend long-term capital strategies.
  • Analyzes current facility conditions and develops recommendations for future growth, facility expansions, renovations, and infrastructure improvements. Contribute significantly to new facility construction, major renovations, remodels, and strategic development initiatives throughout the United States and Canada.
  • Mentor engineers, project managers, and technical staff. Support talent development initiatives, including engineering development through the ASCEND program.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, building codes, environmental regulations, and corporate requirements. Promote a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.
Who We’re Looking for:

Required:
  • A four-year degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Engineering Technology is required
  • Experience:

    five to seven years of related experience at a professional level.
    Supervisory

    Experience:

    One to two years in a work leader role coordinating the work of other employees or contractors. This includes training new employees, assigning work, and checking the timeliness and quality of work. May have provided input into performance reviews. Most time in work leader role would have been spent performing work similar to that performed by the people whose activities the position coordinates.
  • Ability to develop conceptual level designs and cost estimates for future model studies. Knowledge of HVAC control systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, welding, and mechanical fields. Must have above-average troubleshooting and computer skills, and be capable of working without close supervision.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Advanced knowledge of word processors, spreadsheets, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to create specialized applications or products of a highly technical nature.
